Two-tone Jewellery

Any type of precious metal can be used for a two tone ring. Popular choices include:
  • Yellow Gold: Different carat values can produce varying shades of yellow for a contrast even among the same type of gold.
  • White Gold: The rich luster of white gold is an affordable contrast to coloured metals.
  • Rose Gold: The unique pink and red hues of rose gold are unusual in any ring and will be doubly so in a two tone ring.
  • Platinum: More brilliant than white gold and also more durable, platinum is a favourite choice for many contrasting rings.
While these are the most popular options for two tone diamond engagement rings, they are not the only choices. For a more unique ring, couples may choose:
  • Silver: The delicate patina that silver develops over time will add a richness and personality to any ring.
  • Bronze: An unusual choice for most engagement rings, bronze offers a much darker choice perfect to contrast with other metals.
  • Copper: Rick shades tinted with amber and red give copper a very distinct elegance.
These metals are less frequently used in multi-tone designs because they are generally less durable and more prone to tarnish. When paired with a stronger metal such as platinum, however, they do not significantly impair the ring's strength, and their uniqueness can be greatly valued.
